At both the Supporters Direct(SD) AGM and Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) AGM on Saturday 28th July 2018, voting will be taking place as to whether to form just one Football Supporters Organisation or to continue as two distinct organisations.
Discussions, which have been ongoing for the past 18 months, were prompted by SD’s principal funder (The Premier League Fans’ Fund). The SD Board has been working on developing proposals for both a new, single organisation and also how Supporters Direct could continue as a distinct body while facing a likely further reduction in the funding SD receive from the Fans’s Fund for work in football.
From the outset, the SD Board has taken this task forward with two objectives in mind- firstly, to seek to protect and enhance the SD mission for supporter ownership of clubs, better governance of sport and structured dialogue between fans and clubs, all contributing to putting supporters at the heart of sport. Secondly, to provide as clear as and comprehensive as possible a choice for the Trusts who own SD and will decide what happens at the next, to inform our vote at the AGM.
SD has produced a pack which can be downloaded here detailing the pros and cons of both forming a single football supporters organisation and continuing as distinct organisations
After considering the pros and cons the SD Board has recommend to member trusts that SD continues as a distinct organisation and requests that this recommendation is taken into account when Forever Bury votes at the AGM
As full members of SD and affiliated members of the FSF we are consulting Forever Bury Members on which way to vote.
Please read the information before deciding on you vote.
Please return the voting slip to Susan Tunstall by 20th July 2018 via email email@example.com or our postal address Forever Bury 3 St Mary’s Place Bury BL9 0DZ or leave in the Forever Bury Cabin
