Sponsored Walk to Rochdale 7th September 2013

Sponsored Walk

The next sponsored walk will be to Rochdale 7th September 2013. We will be meeting at 9:00am at the Forever Bury Cabin.

This is one of our most enjoyable events so we are please as is often repeated, the Forever Bury Sponsored Walk should be our biggest event of the year.

Accepted we only have a small fan base but there should be enough able bodied fans capable of completing this, Just 500 walkers raising £30 each in sponsorships would net us £15,000 to put into the next Forever Bury Project. So please dig out your walking shoes, get involved and do something positive for our club. If you can’t walk then please still pick up a sponsorship and raise some sponsorship cash for one of the walkers. Sponsorship forms are available in the cabin or can be downloaded from our website

Festive Cheers

Christmas may be several weeks away but, as always, the shops are gearing up for it. Summerseat Garden Centre is always worth a visit to see their Christmas set up which is revamped every year. This year there’s everything you could want for Christmas- trees, lights and decorations but, to add to the festivities, the food hall has been converted into a “Christmas Market” with lots of stalls groaning under the weight of all the tasty delights.

One of the stalls is packed with bottled beer from some of our local breweries and I’m pleased to announce that taking pride of place is our own Forever Bury beer. Owners John and Judith Ainscow were only to happy to become the latest outlet for our ever popular beer. John said, “My father used to cover Bury’s games for the Bury Times and many people will know him by his pen name ‘Ranger’ so I’ve always had a soft spot for the club. The work that the Forever Bury team do is so impressive and as 10p from every bottle sold goes to their cause we felt we had to help.”

Helen Craven, the Food & Beer Manager at the Garden Centre said, “It’s selling really well. We’ve had 8 cases so far but we will need some more for the weekend Beer Tasting”.

If you have never tried our beer and would like to sample some before buying then get along to Summerseat Garden Centre this weekend, the Beer Tasting is on Saturday and Sunday. Whether you like the beer or not there’s something for everyone there so if you were planning a visit or if you’ve never been before why not get along this weekend.

Our Forever Bury beer is also available at The Lord Raglan, Nangreaves, home of the Leyden Brewery. It can also be found at Asda, Pilsworth as well as Threshers, The Local and Wine Rack throughout the North West. If you have difficulty getting hold of some or you want a few cases delivering locally then see Dave at the Cabin or email him at

October Statement from Fans Liaison Director

Hi everyone,

I’d like to take this opportunity to keep you all up-to-date with the latest goings on in and around Gigg Lane of late.

First of all, we have had independent assessors in regarding improving  the PA system.  A few quotes have come in, and Forever Bury have offered financial support should any of the quotes be accepted.

We have received a number of complaints from fans over the state of the current toilet supply.  At present, there is one supply tank which covers the Manchester Road End, Cemetery End and the Main Stand.  We are looking into these issues and possible cures and once again, Forever Bury are looking into the possibility of contributing financially to help sort these issues out.

We are working with the Football in the Community team to ‘re-vamp’ Robbie the Bobby, allowing youngsters the chance to design their own Robbie the Bobby, with the winner getting their design made and used!

We would like to offer our thanks to Santosh Rudravajhala and Gill Mansley, who in the space of a few short weeks have boosted our Junior Shakers membership up to 363!  Could we ask those who have not picked up their free junior packs to do so whenever possible.  Junior Shakers membership is FREE OF CHARGE to anyone under the age of 16, and comes with loads of cool advantages, such as a birthday card from your favourite player and even the chance to be a ball person on a matchday!

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the fans for the support they have shown this season.  The away followings at Crewe and Torquay have been superb, and the players appreciate the backing you are giving them.  The results over the last few games have been excellent, and with your support we know we can push forward and challenge at the top of the table!

This statement has been created by myself with support from Forever Bury; we realise the communication hasn’t been the best in the past but we are determined to improve this – this is YOUR club after all.  Statements like this are planned on a monthly basis, if you have anything you would like us to look into or discuss, please feel free to contact me using the details below:

e-mail  or write to me at the club or via Forever Bury, PO Box 310, Bury, BL9 6WA

Finally, we can do so much more with your support, prices of membership for Forever Bury are £10 adults and only £5 for concessions, which covers you for a full 12 months.  Forever Bury is here for YOU, the Fans’ of Bury Football Club, help us to help you.

Kind Regards,
