December Statement
Hi everyone!
In the last statement I brought up the Boxing Day game v Bradford City and the seating arrangements. As you will now be aware, ticket sales at Bradford were a lot lower than expected and normal seating arrangements will be resumed. Bury fans will remain in the South Stand and Bradford will once again occupy the Manchester Road End.
We are delighted that the Bury v Rochdale derby match has been chosen by Sky television for live coverage. Financially it is ideal for both clubs, and promises to be a cracker with both teams vying for promotion again!
The Steven Dawson situation is frustrating. A new contract has been offered to Steven, which as you will know by now has been rejected. Steven is a key member of the team, as well as currently wearing the captain’s armband. We certainly don’t want to lose Steven, however we can only offer the best deal available to the club. We would love to be playing at a higher level with Steven in the team, and have proven in the past that we wouldn’t stand in the way of a player moving on when the right offer comes in.
On a brighter note, Alan has managed to secure the services of Tom Elliott until the end of the season. He will join us in January and once again aid us in our push up the table!
There also seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel injury wise. Ryan Lowe has been back in full training and played a part in the last couple of games, and Damien Allen, Ryan Cresswell and Andy Bishop don’t seem too far off. Danny Carlton is making good progress and it will be like signing a new player when he returns!
First team physio Alan Bent has left us to join Blackpool. Alan has been with the club for many years and we’d like to pass our many thanks to Alan for his service at the Club and wish him all the best with the Tangerines. Alan’s replacement is Tom Walsh, and we all welcome Tom to Gigg Lane!
As has been mentioned in previous statements, we are looking at a possible solution for the toilets inside the ground, as well as the installation of new changing rooms at Lower Gigg. Both of these projects are now awaiting the result of planning permission and once we have more information on these projects, we will of course keep you up to date.
New Director Mark Catlin hasn’t been at the Club for very long, but has already got his teeth into things and is now looking to the Fans for assistance. In an effort to make your match day even more enjoyable, Mark is actively looking for volunteers from each stand to provide information on any issues and improvements that they feel could be made in that respective stand. In total, 4 volunteers will be required, with 1 coming from each of the following stands: Main Stand, Family Stand, Cemetery End, South Stand. Anyone interested can use the Forever Bury e-mail address – liaison@gigglane.com, clearly stating their contact details and why they would like to get involved.
Bury FC have joined the Facebook and Twitter revolution! You can now become fans of the Club on Facebook, and ‘follow’ the Shakers on Twitter, and ensure you are kept up to date with all the latest information coming from the Club! You can follow the links below for each respective site:

Finally, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

My appologies for not uploading the statement earlier.
